Krishna Rao Jaisim

Principal Architect, Jaisim Fountainhead

On a journey that began fifty years ago, K Jaisim has shaped and traversed momentous and inspired milestones, spearheading the legendary practice and firm – Jaisim-Fountainhead.

Encouraged by Sheila Tribe, his Design Professor at The School of Architecture (Madras), inspired by the likes of Mies van der Rohe, Buckminster Fuller, Otto Koenigsberger and Geoffrey Bawa, with personal interaction and  trained under Architect Srikrishna  Chitale, and spirited away by Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead, Jaisim’s incurable romanticism led to the birth of JAISIM FOUNTAINHEAD in 1970.

Since then Jaisim has created and recreated a spectrum of projects. Jaisim has written over hundreds of papers, articles, made over thousand presentations. Serves on several boards and councils, and finds time to interact with students of architecture all over India.

His iconoclastic views and individualistic endeavors are the hallmarks of his creativity. Today, he still continues to pursue the adventures of the built and unbuilt environment, searching and researching beyond the boundaries of time and space.

Recently Jaisim received the JK - AYA Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Architecture, and the CIVILAID award for outstanding contribution to structure by an architect, the most recent additions to his vast accolades.
