Abhishek Somany, the eldest son of Mrs. & Mr. Shreekant Somany is one of the strongest pillars behind the incessant success of Somany Ceramics Ltd. Somany Ceramics Ltd. is a company engaged in the manufacturing of ceramic tiles, polished vitrified tiles, glazed vitrified tiles, digital tiles, sanitary ware & bath fittings. Somany is also the First Company in the Indian Tile industry to be accredited with Bureau of Indian Standards Certification for Tiles. Somany is also the First Company to get a patent for the VC (Veil Craft) Shield Technology. Born on January 11, 1972, he is an alumnus of Hyderabad Public School. Subsequently, he completed Bachelor of Business Administration in General Administration & Marketing from Richmond University, U.K. in 1992.
Having more than 18 years of rich experience in the Ceramic Industry & International Marketing, he started his career with an initial training at Kanoria Chemicals, (Renukoot Works) U.P. Later on he resumed his specialized intensive training in M/s. Pilkington's Tiles U.K. at their Manchester and Brighton Plants. M/s. Pilkington's Tiles U.K is a company engaged in the manufacturing of glazed ceramic wall and floor tiles. Soon after his specialized training, he joined Somany Group as a Management Trainee, later on took complete charge of domestic marketing as President, and then became Executive Director. Currently, Mr. Abhishek Somany is the
Joint Managing Director of Somany Ceramics Ltd. He is in-charge of operational responsibility and day-today functioning of the Company. He is also personally involved with the Product Designing and Sales & Marketing of Somany Ceramics.
Under his leadership, Somany has bagged many prestigious awards and recognition across the Globe. To name the few, Somany received “Indian Power Brand Award” for two consecutive years; awarded with Asia’s Most Promising Brand of the year in ceramics tile category and the list goes on. Mr. Abhishek Somany also received an award “Power Brand Hall of Fame – Corporate Leader – Ceramics Industry for 2011-2012”.
He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Leading from the front, he is confident to take Somany Ceramics Limited reach the zenith of the Indian Ceramic Industry and make Somany the most sought after tile brand in India.
Principal and CEO, Studio Lotus
In the course of his working career of 30 years, Ambrish trained and worked as a boat designer before moving to Spatial Design. He founded StudioLotus in 2002 along with Sidhartha Talwar & Ankur Choksi .The firm is acknowledged as a thought leader in the country for their work in the domain of Architecture and Interior Design
Lotus work is grounded on the principles of Conscious design, an approach that celebrates local resources, cultural influences, a keen attention to Detail and an inclusive process..
Its work has been Internationally recognized - winning among others ; the World Holiday building of the year at the World Architecture Festival & World Architecture News awards, the grand Jury Prize at the Design for Asia Award, the AD50 list for 3 consecutive years and a nomination in the Aga Khan Awards cycle 2013 among several others.
Ambrish has an active interest in Design Thinking and Research. He has lectured extensively at various International design forums and has served as visiting faculty and juror at Design Competitions & Institutes across the country. He is a member of the CII National Committee on Design and on the advisory board the Jawahar Kala Kendra, and is currently working on co founding a new School of Design.
Britta Knobel Gupta

Born in Stuttgart Germany, Britta Knobel Gupta commenced her Architectural studies in Konstanz and Lyon. She moved to London in 2004 to study masters in architecture and urbanism at Architectural Association School of Architecture London. In 2006 she joined Zaha Hadid Architects and was involved in a number of seminal projects as Lead Project Architect which attained international acclaim; Abu Dhabi Performing Arts Centre, Broad Art Museum in Michigan, Dubai opera house. She has also been teaching in various architectural schools in Britain, Germany and India.
Britta Knobel Gupta co-founded Studio Symbiosis Architects in 2010 and is known for her notable works in the field of architecture and design. She was awarded with the prestigious 40 under 40 Europe (the next new talented generation of European architects and designers) in 2014, alongside she has also been awarded with International property award, iGen Future Architect, Estrade International Award, Iconic Award, German Design award. As an invited speaker she gave prominent talks at TEDx Germany, Smart Geometry Hong Kong and CIBF Congress by AIT in Hamburg Germany.
Looking to push boundaries in the field of architecture and embedding sustainability in the designs, she is well known for her projects which include Double Tree by Hilton Ahmedabad, Athletic Ripples sports complex, Trans Ganga Masterplan, Kanpur riverfront redevelopment, Aqua villa, Double Tree by Hilton Kathmandu, Net zero affordable housing Jhansi and Punjab Kesari Headquarters.
Creative Director, Krishna Mehta
Krishna Mehta, a textile designer and the creative director of the brand "Krishna Mehta" estd since 1988, uses her heritage as the starting and ending point for all her design inspirations, by maintaining a fine balance between the sensitivities of the diverse cultures, re-living the classic design fundamentals of her country.
- Awarded the Fabled Peacock award in 2001 from the Government of Gujarat.
- Awarded the CMAI award in 2004 for The Best Designer in the Menswear category.
- Awarded the Times of India Award in 2005 in recognition of usage of natural and khadi fabrics.
- Chosen by the Italian council in India, to showcase her collections during the Milan fashion week in 2004.

Lipika Sud is a leading Interior Designer of India and has been practicing for more than 25years. She is the Founder Director of Lipika Sud Interiors Pvt. Ltd and has designed several prestigious projects in India and Abroad.
President of The Guild of Designers & Artists & an All India Governing Body Member FICCI FLO. Co-Chairperson of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce (Infrastructure) & Director - National Federation of Tourism and Transport Co-op of India.
Her Campaign “Proud to be Indian” is a step towards reviving the dying crafts of India. She extensively works with these craftsmen at the grass-root level.
Recipient of several awards, she was honoured with the FICCI FLO Outstanding Women Achievers Award 2013-14 & the recipient of Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Yes Bank – SRCC. Awarded the Design Professional of the Year by Indian Home Congress & adjudged the Interior Designer of the Year by Builder Information Bureau and the Best Designer for Creative Excellence–Society Interiors.
She has been given a citation for being one of the 50 Most Talented Green Leaders in India at the World CSR Day. Recipient of the prestigious Udyog Rattan Award in July 2015,she has recently been awarded the Women Achievers Award by Amity University. Sangeet Sharma is a practicing architect in Chandigarh. He is a partner in SD Sharma & Associates, a well-known firm of the region founded by his father Ar. SD Sharma, an eminent Architect. Widely acknowledged and awarded Ar. Sangeet Sharma commands an undisputed international reputation in profession. Carrying forward the legacy and vocabulary established by his father he is fascinated by geometrical forms. By looking at every drawn line as built spaces he follows a certain rationale to his reflective practice. His buildings are based on sustainable applications.
He is a multifaceted personality. He is a poet, Architectural critic, writer, artist and author. He has authored Architecture, Life and Me, published by Rupa and Co., a memoir that takes an all-round view of the profession.
